Sabah : Rungus Long House

Stopped by to visit the Rungus Long House on the way back to Kota Kinabalu from Kudat.

Can you notice how long the house is? and it is actually not captured from its end, means it is actually longer than what you can see in the picture.

The story lies behind this Rungus Long House is that the Rungus people used to stay in this long house but now it is not occupied by any of the Rungus anymore. Every small part of the long house consists of a small room accommodates for one family. When the child of the family got married and have their own family, they will build a home next to it, another section of the long house built with a small room again, and there, the long house grew longer and longer. This is how they built the family in that long house. It actually sounds very sweet to me when I got to know that as the family get to stay together after marriage. There, they have a big and happy family, they could meet each other everyday and they definitely knew each of their family members. Unlike modern days now, people tend to move away and build their home somewhere away from where they used to grow up. Most can’t even meet once a year. Some even can’t recognise their own family members. This is actually quite saddening. But thank god, at least nowadays we still have internet to keep in touch which makes the distance closer. But, it’s still rather pathetic. >.<

Some art craft are done by the Rungus people along the long house and sold at cheap price.

Look at the necklace made of spherical tiny things that I wore. Haha… Too much? LOL. It is called Igiu (I think it’s the Rungus language). They are the seeds of the tree. According to our tourist guide, it is getting rare to find this Igiu, not much left for sale too, it is believed to have some aura to keep the demonic soul away. So, all of us got ourselves Igiu, hoping that we would be blessed and protected. And we cleared all the Igiu available. LOL. I’m gonna put this in car if I own mine in future. For now, the Igiu is protecting me by hanging on my bag. Heh! Another 3 Igiu gotta give away to my beloved friends, one for AhHeng, one for Sue, and another one still pending.

Next stop : Bee Farm – Gombizau Kampung Madu, also along the way back to KK. Nothing much, just some bees and honey. So I’m going to skip that part. Just show you another sweet picture of the girls at the bee farm. =)

Here was the first evening we spent in Sabah. Burning hot sun, crystal clear sea, cloudy azure sky, everything appeared in such an idyllic scene.

Let’s see a geographical image taken from internet source to have a better view of where exactly were we that time. Beach and Sunset, GO!!! (Sorry, no bikini )

Ran towards the beach, and couldn’t help with series of camwhoring. We saw nobody on the beach, except us. Reason: Because it was 4pm! The sun was burning hot! Let’s see what great photos we had at this coastline.

A good chunk of time, I wish I can freeze the moment =)

View from the Tip of Borneo, worth for your three hours travelling on the bumpy roads which get your neck and buttock dancing all the way. I was astounded by the rocky cliff at the tip!

Sunset at the lingering junction – the meeting point of South China Sea and Sulu Sea. Awesome!!!

(P/S : There was some Music Fest Concert going on that day and they closed down the pathway towards this tip though the pathway doesn’t even hinder or link to the concert! So, we reasoned with the concert personnel. Slight argument went on, they couldn’t even show us the permission of closing down the place and they asked us to pay RM30 for the concert if we wanted to enter for sunset! Totally unreasonable for it is a public place and the visitors need not pay any single cent to enter for sunset normally. No prior notification regarding the prohibition was made online or else where, or else we could have turned up the other day! So, we wondered if it is a fraud of the organisor’s to deceive the public money by means of the music fest. Indirectly, they made the concert a compulsory for all the visitors who wished to have sunset. After some argument, they allowed us to enter but only for 15mins, and the sun set at the 20th minutes, so we only get to see the gorgeous scene through the bushes. Sorry for the poor sunset photos displayed here >.<)

The very first time for several of us to see a sun set at the horizon. <3 See the sun disappearing, like an egg yolk, and it all happened within 5 minutes!

If given a second chance for a sunset at Tip of Borneo again, I’m definitely in!

Padas White Water Rafting

The biggest highlight of the trip : Padas White Water Rafting where 15 of us dug out our gut for this daring thrill. All girls and only one guy out of the 15! Steady? Woots! Rock the raft! I love my coursemates! They are all independent and courageous girls, where new era girls should be. <3

So early in the morning 6.30am, the agent came pick us up at our cabin and we travelled all the way from Kota Kinabalu to Padas, which took about 3 hours journey. Train is the only transport to get ourselves to the ultimate destination. So we boarded the diesel train at beaufort station. The train is not the typical modern train, can hardly believe that there is such an old conventional train functioning in Malaysia, thought KTM is the lousiest. LOL. But the train boarding was rather interesting as it crossed the rural outskirts of the town areas with the view of tropical forests, rubber estates and villages along the river. The train stopped intermittently throughout the route, I guess it is so to get the engine fired up again for its next few miles. It is a pleasure experience beyond the developing generation.

Wooden doors at the end of the coaches, connecting one coach to the other. The doors were opened all the time and people can cross over to the next coach even if the train was moving !! But few dare to do so. LOL.

So, after light refreshment and briefing, we started our nerve tingling rafting! The rapids is classified as Grade IV, the toughest grade of the rafting available. O.o The only advice from the guide – Amin was : DON’T PADDLE LIKE CHICKEN, OR ELSE YOU BYE BYE!!

Pictures will tell you how Grade IV paddling looks like. >.< Shooting rapids include Headhunter cyclone, Cobra Rock, Roller Coaster, Jacuzzi Pool, Washing Machine and so on. The names describe the rapids that we crossed over at different distance apart.

Check out the rough waves! Part of he boat didn’t even touch the water, the paddle couldn’t even reach the water! This is called exhilaration! =)

Somehow, like a tsunami! LOL. And we screamed like hell but to no avail.

So what? We still survived the hits. Bravo! Hah!

Some difficult stunt was not captured. Flying Fish stunt, where all of us were required to crawled to one end of the boat, making the weight fell at the back side of the boat and the boat was then push forward along the downstream. The raft could have overturned at anytime if the balance was not well managed. A breathtaking stunt that get the thrill pushed to the max!! One word: FUN !!!

Only two people survived the hit! The rest all submerged. One with the legs saying hello. Haha.. Don’t you laugh! Try it yourself =)

Trip to the “Land Below the Wind”

Woots! Just got back from the most beautiful state of Malaysia – Sabah! Here am I to share the thrill of the trip with you guys =)

The trip started off with 7 of us : Xinli, LaiHui, ChuiHua, QingLiang, FunWee, KyYing and ME, taking the AirAsia flight at early 6.30am which we booked since one year ago during AirAsia Promo. I guess it was only me who got so excited with the Sabah trip, for I have been loving Sabah since I first stepped onto its ground back in year 2008! Though feeling excited, I only get to pack my luggage at 10pm that day! =.= That was why I only slept for 3 hours before the trip. LOL. (No choice, busy marrrr~~ :P)

Smooth flight with no delay, so we touched down safely at KKIA at around 9am. The first thing that caught our attention at the aiport was this:

A whole group of people dressed up in traditional outfits carried with them a huge welcoming banner. Woah, was shocked for such a big welcoming group. Looked further with caution, they were not welcoming us, they were just promoting for the International Folklore Festival! Hah! This festival actually had a cultural parade, passing by the backpacker cabin which we stayed during Day 3. For this Folklore Parade, I will show the further details in my following post =)

So, there was this sweet tour guide of us welcomed us. =D

First pit stop for the famous must try YeeFung Sabah Laksa, located at the Gaya Street. As you can see, huge crowd in this outlet, there you can guess how popular it is.

We waited for our seat for about 10mins as the outlet was fully occupied. While making our order, a small girl caught our attention for she was just too cute and amusing! Though at her young age, she actually could serve customers very well and talked fluently! Such an adorable one that I took out my camera to have a shot, but she was yelling: No, don’t take my photo..Hahaha.. And we all burst into laughter. LOL.

Here are their Top 3 attraction:

We all ordered YeeFung laksa. Surprisingly, the laksa doesn’t taste spicy at all !! If you’re not into spice, then you should try this laksa. No joke, it taste NO SPICY yet delicious!

After the light meal, we strolled around the Gaya Street where different stalls were up for different merchandises, ranging from souvenirs to vegetables and fruits, just like those night markets. Played around like kiddos:

Choosing the souvenirs. Not much I have purchased this time, so, don’t blame me if you don’t get a souvenirs from me k? Hehe.. I can just give you a hug with my dark skin complexion after burning by the hot sun at Sabah.

After that, the tour guide dropped us at Tun Mustaffa Tower for a snapshot. There is a revolving restaurant located in this building. I once went to this revolving restaurant at night, but not this time. These pictures show the fairest skin condition we had when we first arrived.

Paddy Field of special meaning to me

An overdue post but the memory will never overdue.

This is one of the best scene I will pass by whenever I travel back to Hometown from KL.

People guessed it is Sekinchan. Hah! Sorry to say that it is NOT Sekinchan.

Not sure of the name of the place. It is somewhere between the route of Teluk Intan towards Kampung Koh, Perak. Many wouldn’t have known this paddy field if you never cross over Perak River via the Teluk Intan Bridge.

View when driving along the paddy field. Oopsss.. Okay, I’m not an ethical driver for not concentrating while driving. Hehe. I swear I did try to be extra cautious while doing this. Heh!

The greenish paddy field that I have been travelling to and fro these few years. The vast field will look different everytime u pass by. The field appears watery during its initial cultivation. Sometimes the field is soothing greenish as seen in the pictures below as the paddies grow. Sometimes it appear as yellowish brown when the field is ready to be harvested.

Whenever I passed by this site, there will be two different feelings reside in the heart.

If it is heading back to Sitiawan, my heart will shout : Oh yea, I’m getting so close to my lovely hometown and family already!!!

If it is heading back to KL, the heart will say : When will be my next return? With great reluctance hitting me >.<*

By chance, I managed to stop by these little paddy field to have a few shots during the visit of QingLiang and ChuiHua.

The trip supposed to have 7 people, and there left only 3 of us while the rest … *ahem* … missed out =(

There was this lovely morning when the two sweethearts played together.

The black one is a male with the name Dollar whereas the brown one is a female sexy bitch, Venus. XD

Venus is looking at the bone on the cubic. I guess Dollar was saying “Come get it Bitch!” lol…

Scratching, fighting like small kids snatching at the bone that both wanted. They don’t actually want the bone so much, but just like to fight for something.

So, they were chasing each other non stop, as they always do. They like to chase around and fight like nobody business. Haha…

A sense of contentment when seeing them playing around. Dogs are always man’s best friends. I have them and they have each other as well. Love them soooo much!!

Just few weeks ago, I posted the entry to Simple Skincare Facebook page, UK’s no. 1 facial skincare brand. Just happened to bump into this contest coincidentally when I first discovered their Facebook page. With just a photo and basic details, I submitted the entry without thinking much just to see if I can get the luck pot. =)

Just before I get to know about the contest, I had a tough time dealing with my personal stuffs, you can actually see my previous post entry which I wrote on Simplicity of Life and Smile to Embrace the Problems. That was part of the reasons I submitted the entry as the idea of Simple Skincare was just so close to what was being expressed in my mind.

And there, I wrote this as the reason of being a Simple Skincare Facebook Ambassador:

Knowing a fact that life can be intricate sometimes, posing challenges to us physically, emotionally and spiritually. It takes a huge courage to counter all the odds and stand up after stumbled over the pebbles which hinder your path. Therefore, Simple is definitely more than just a skin care product; it is also a tool to remind people to Live Life Simple. At the time when your life is messed up and scrambled upside down, be glad for you still have Simple which warms your heart and shows you the SIMPLICITY THAT GIVES HAPPINESS. There the result was announced and I was honoured as one of the Top 10 finalists! That’s pure luck mann~~!! I guess God wanted to shower me with his affection when I was stuck in a deep shit hole. Blessed! Then, I was invited to the exclusive Hi-Tea held at 'F' by Buffalo Kitchens which is located at Bangsar (Just opposite Bangsar Village). I was allowed to bring one special guest with me. Most of my friends had gone back to their beloved hometown as it was our semester break. Guess, who was with me? =D

Also thanks to my dear sister who lent her car to me, so I get to drive to the event. weee~ ♥

The finalists were given a questionaire sheet each to be answered before the event ended.

The event then started off with a brief talk from a dermatologist – Mr. Nadzri giving an overview about taking care of our skin. The dermatologist has a skin like an adult of early 20’s! But I bet his age is definitely over 30!!

The contestants and guests were attentive to his words.

Dr.Nadzri was interacting with the contestants. You can see, he was talking to me at that moment, questioning where I come from. When he started the conversation, he actually asked why I was like so shy??!! LOL. Seriously, I was kind of paiseh la in the event. Following that, it was a live facial demonstration by the Simple Skincare facial consultant – Ms. Rachel. A very quick and easy demonstration to show us how to clear the face in a proper way and how to apply the products.

Soon after the photography session, we began our sumptuous hi-tea cordially prepared by Buffalo Kitchens.

We love the Latte! Taste as good as it looks =) Thanks Simple!

Nice Hi-Tea they’ve got. Buffalo Kitchens is definitely a good place for peers gathering!! Looking forward to visit again to taste their main course. It must be F delicious! =)

Red Riding Hood at Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya Shah Alam

“Cordially” been invited to Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya Shah Alam for cycling after receiving a call from the dear brother Kaikam. Tried Skytrex before, so this time let’s try out cycling. :)

Out of our expectation, it turned out to be so crowded at the botanical garden. Registered ourselves for bicycles with more than 50 cyclists above us in the waiting list! So, there we had been waiting for about 3 hours just for the two wheels. See the faces below, you will know how bored was the waiting period. Lesson for everyone : Be An Early Bird! (But we reached there at around 9am! I thought it was early enough? )

While waiting, we took a stroll around the garden with the shuttle buses provided. The buses were divided into two routes namely Lane 1 and Lane 2 with opposite direction of travelling, offering different views of the garden.

A magnificent site which caught my attention during the tour – The Cactus Garden. It looks mysterious and rare, isn’t it?

Apart from flora, you can spot fauna at the garden too.

A small rabbit park is just located beside the entrance of the botanical garden.

Pretty peacocks in the garden as well.

The beginning of the journey was easy and relaxing where we stopped by at various sites to explore.

The overhead bridge which has been closed down.

The highlight of the cycling begins. I never expected the route to be tough where the slant is so steep that the bicycle wouldn’t move at all although you have exerted the maximum force on the pedals! Crap! So we gotta stepped down from the bike and carried it all the way until we reached the peak of the hill then we could just slide along the slope without cycling. And there we were speeding up to an estimate of 50, 60 km/h as the slope was incredibly steep! Can you imagine that? And that was the biggest fun we had! :)

But pushing the bicycle up to the hill is definitely a killing effort, gasping for air like asthma attack. zzzz…

Half way of the journey, some friends couldn’t stand any longer as they were overstretched and exhausted. But the tough one wouldn’t want to give up before they achieved something glorious. So, they challenged the highest tower available in the garden – Bukit Sapu Tangan (Translation : Handkerchief Hill). There are other spots available as well like the Empangan Air Kuning and two more towers which are lower in heights. But the highest one becomes the target. :)

Out of the ten mates, five mates decided to continue the journey though it was tiring. I had a 15cm long bread only at the morning while the rest had Nasi Lemak! Still, I persist to continue to the stupid handkerchief hill in order to get my prior effort paid. Here are the stubborn dudes who insisted to cycle for another 1.8km. Noob enough that we only realised we were ran out of drinking water when we already travelled far enough from the junction. A journey of no returning without victory. So, we continued the whole journey in thirst.

Yes, 1.8km, sounds easy? Believe me, it is VERY CHALLENGING! Watch them, WeiChin and Kaikam pushing the bikes together up to the 45 degree hill. Two guys, three bicycles. You knew whose was the extra bicycle belonged to. Haha…

Choo was carrying the girlfriend Lindsay’s bicycle too. This is what we said :

Answer : Gifts from God to test your stamina. Hah!

Yay! We reached the top! The 1.8km was the longest journey we ever had. We used nearly one hour the complete the 1.8km from the junction where the group split into two! =.= Then, we carefully stepped on the wooden staircases of the tower which seriously cracked and old like it could break at anytime when heavy weight being imposed on it.

I was like just after shower. Yes, Handkerchief Needed! Now I know why it is named Bukit Sapu Tangan.

The scenery when we headed downhill. It reminds me of Vampire Diaries which had some similar scene of this.

We spent about 10 mins to get back to the junction where we split with the rest. What a huge difference between Heading to the tower and Back again to the original place. 1 hour versus 10 mins. The reason why the returning was fast is because the steep slant imposed a great kinetic force to move the bicycle without the need to cycle at all. Enjoying the speed to the fullest!!! At least 50km/h with bicycle mannnn!! Woah.

feel being appreciated or be appreciative?

If you don’t feel being appreciated despite how hard you have been trying to make the ends meet, then you seriously gotta re-analyse what are you fighting for actually? Do they worth it? Should you just leave?

If you never be appreciative towards all the kindness offered and things that you have owned, it is so sad to say that you are going to lose everything one by one. Some people they just don’t realise what they have in hands, but being obsessed with what they don’t have instead. Greed kills.

Look in your hands, what you have got, they are not granted for you. They are gifts from god to honour you, to rejoice you, to fulfill you. But if you take it for granted, they becomes pebbles from God to test you and to stumble you so that you get to learn one day.

Things come and leave. What you’ve owned are not actually owned by you. We are born with nothing in hands, so never claim over anything because it doesn’t and never ever belong to you. When you leave the world in the end of life, what remains is just ash, you don’t have anything to take away. So, always be appreciative for what you have as you only owns them at that precise moment.

Honestly, I put in the best I could. It strikes me deeply when what I had poured in never receive any appreciation. But I learnt a painful lesson – Never expect anything when you giving out any effort. You may drown in your pond of endless expectation.

So, I Quit. For Good.

Study week, the week for final exams preparation.

Within this period,

you shall see students are more active in “face book”.

Hand up, Yes, I’m one of them. And now, you can even see me posting this nonsense blog post though piles of notes awaiting me.

you shall see more students in study room / library.

I used to study in library of Faculty of Law as it was near to my hostel back in my first year.

Another option was AIA, the study room of first residential college.

Reason? I love air-cond. I’m bored to study alone.

Moving out of the college, I gotta study all alone in my “luxurious” single room.

Okay, to be honest, this can be lonely sometimes.

Sometimes, I wish to have roomates too, the type of roomates like what I had in college.

They are just lovely and caring.

They helped me to clear my study table while they cleaning up the room.

Okay, I’m the nasty kind who just leave the notes on the page where I last stop and crawl to bed. haha. This is not the main reason I miss them though.

When we studied till so tired and saturated, we recharged ourselves by hanging around the residential compound, walking all the way to other colleges to have supper, dating at small mart to have ice cream etc.

How badly I wish to have these indulgence now.

Surprisingly, these days my stomach growling for food during the study!

There, I had McD at 12 midnight! O.o

When luck is good, I get food.

When luck is nowhere seen? Answer just simple - get no food.

Home is the best place to be where you can always seek something from fridge or kitchen to fill up your desire.

And the pimples are appearing too. =(

Yay!! Claimed Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus 30 ml from Mid Valley counter.

Back to 2 weeks ago, I came across the product test team recruitment on Clinique facebook page and simply filled up the online application form to try my luck. The applicants would need to submit a close up photo during the application. Scrambled through the photo album and this was what I had submitted. Hah. Close up enough? lol. Freaking close.

Spread the recruitment news to several friends as well, but SzeYin said aiyo, they sure select those auntie auntie old ladies as it is meant for wrinkles and fine lines. The lines become evidently visible when I smile hard – This is what we called OVER-expression. lol. Show you another close up ugly picture of which the fine lines appear to be so annoying. OMG. Notice the lines at the corner of eye tip. Terrible =( Sign of aging???

Few days after, the selection was announced. To my surprise, my name appeared in the list of 30 applicants selected which made me go WOW, floating on the cloud 9 =))) This is so lucky! Btw, I’m the second youngest among the list. lol.

There was this man I met today when I was waiting for lift at my residence floor.

An indian or Punjabi most probably, ran out of the lift in rush and shouted “Atas Atas!”

I took a second to process what he was trying to tell me.

There I realised he meant that the lift was going up (I was pressing the lift to get down instead)

Then, just within 3 seconds, he ran back in the lift again and smiled widely to me.

I was smiling as well.

A thinking imparted the mind:

The punjabi was just a newspaper delivering boy, but just by delivering the papers,

I see a kind of unexplainable contentment and happiness reflected.

He rushed in and out just to compete with the lift speed and get the papers delivered and entered the lift again before it closed so that he could target the next floor!

At that moment, I got envious. The simplicity of life which gives happiness.

But often, the simplicity exists at the first place, at the nil point when thing just begins. Then, it is slowly diminished until it is only noted when thing has proceeded far away.

There I was with the dearest mama at Thean Hou temple. Just wanna bring her to some places as she was getting bored at my place. >.< We took taxi, on the way up to the hill, I just realised how secluded it was the place and been thinking how would we suppose to get down afterwards?? You just can’t spot any taxi or bus there! Holy!

Thank god that a group of Iranian travellers offered us a bus ride and dropped us at Times Square. The Iranian tour guide was so friendly that she kept calling me as her friend and telling me it might be god’s kind deed to help us get down from the hill. =)

To my surprise, Malaysia Pavillion exhibited at the World Expo was partly translocated here. There wasn’t much crowd that day as it wasn’t those big day for the chinese. If it is during the first day or the fifteenth day of chinese lunar calendar, you can see throngs of people coming in.

The temple looks simply divine with delicate carvings. Love the place so much and it was portrayed to me as if I was at somewhere around China =)

I told mom it was my first time been to there.

And mama said she had been there since she carried me during her pregnancy! It means I had been here since I was few months old. Hehe. No wonder I felt soothing with the place. =)

I’m not superstitious but I strongly feel that human beings need to have belief to make them stand during the tough time. When human doesn’t comfort you during the deepest shit hole you’re in or when one feels helpless, belief is what you can opt for, choosing to lean on God. It doesn’t matter whether it is Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism or any religion. It is the place where tired soul leans on, it is where people get inspired and motivated to keep on moving.

Dear dollarlin is now one year old. Handsome? ^^ A lot of doggie lovers grow fond of him; a lot of friends been freaked out by him too

Been searching for a suitable wifey for him.

What I was holding is not young pup dollar.

Yea, it is his future wifey candidate. lolx.

A six-month-old pup at sepang. It took us 2 hours journey to reach sepang from my place, accompanied by mom and sis’s bf. The pup is VERY VERY VERY CUTEEeeeee!!! Just don’t wanna to let it go after I had it in my hands. >.<

Its eyes are bi-coloured with right black eye and left blue eye. Don’t worry, some breeds of husky do have such combination, it is definitely normal yet special.

Sadly, it is not the ultimate dollar’s fiancée. Parents rejected this pup as feeling its owner was not sincere in the dealing, lack of trustworthiness. The lil poor pups were separated from its maternal care. We didn’t even meet its parents. 4 babies husky were given birth, but one of them died with unclear reason. Thereby, we are of concern on the pup’s health and reproductivity.

Still I insist to post this for it is a heaven place!

As discussed previously, the gang came into consent that there will be a brand new style for this year birthday celebration The birthday girl will have all rights to choose a vacation place for her celebration. Taiping was chosen by the birthday girls as the first kick start for our plan.

There we went, I was at the foothill.

lol.. fine.. Yes, we took 4WD. An exciting drive which caught the girls at the back seat to scream as the buttock slipping off. XD

It was another special night with kaikam and melvin. The friends that I have known for 5 years ,and it is still counting and it will not stop counting. I ‘m so glad that the friendship still remains so simple yet sweet. We don’t meet up on a weekly nor monthly basis, but more often some spontaneous dates after some while. And every time when I hanged out with them, I would say everything was so interesting and cheerful. They are the dramatic guys who bring laughter and joys.

So, there were 11 dudes at the legendary place called Quattro. The place which I knew back in then. Yea, it is the popular four seasons nightspot with Autumn Club, Winter Bar, Summer Restaurant and Spring Lounge. Melvin came to pick me up and we reached there at 12am, the fella was telling me not to tell kaikam that I was coming over so as to surprise him. The first reaction when the bro saw me, from what I could see, he was smiling super widely, hahaha, yea he was so happy and surprised to see me appeared at the scene with melvin. In fact, the bro tried to drag me to club for N times for consecutive 3 years already, but I rejected him all the time with reasons and reasons, excuses and excuses. There, it was the first time I was down to the club just for his birthday. I meant down to the club with him after his numerous attempts to spread the bad influence to me, it is the first time. LOL. I used to club once and it was the second time that day.

Here is the bro who has been always affectionate, and of course he skunks ~~sometime~~ most of the time. He has a poor sense of direction, was once lost on the way to find me for lunch and ended up I had no lunch to eat due to his time delaying in finding ways out and it was already time for me to have class and time for him to back to his job. =.= Lunch time was OVER!! Hey bro, you know I ended up with bread ar??!! screw you.

This is the legendary melvin phun with all-time stylish hairs. Hahaha…This is his current hairstyle! How cute his is. XD

Sincere feedback that I gave him : I’m actually not fond of clubbing but the place was great in certain aspects, however, it shouldn’t be a place which one immerse in as routine. The reasons for me not fond of clubbing are extensive. The prime reason would be the smoke. The night when I get back, I could smell myself with third hand smoke all over my body. But I just couldn’t get rid of it, I wanted to bath, at the same time I wanted to sleep. So, I just get my face cleaned and immediately crawled onto the bed. The next morning, the first thing I did once I woke up was washing myself from head to toes, but I still getting the bad smell, not sure if it was real or it was just my pyschology part ruling. I’m not having obsessive compulsive disorder anyway.

I had a memorable night with you all and hoping you had a good night as well. Arlar, I knew you all did, the clubbing kakis. To kaikam, Happy Birthday bro!! Dream good, Act good and Live good!! May you find your true love soon, yes you will if you repent. Hahaha… I will always spread the good stuffs to you at the time you’re trying to influence me with your frigging damn things.

The area of Dreamz is just a very small confined space with three sets of dining tables and stools, probably the size of your bedroom. But, every single decoration in the shop is all of their own effort and it appears to be very calming, soothing and gorgeous! You would want to capture every single corner of the shop as each corner has their own unique mesmerizing view! The small space allows the owners to have closer interaction with their customers and you might have your own space if your crowd occupy all the three tables! Sounds great rite?! Heh!

Endoscopy

If you have been following me all this while then you should have a good guess why am I having endoscopic examination.

Today is the appointment day where endoscopy had been arranged weeks ago during my second visit to the hospital. Endoscopy is a medical procedure where tubes with tiny camera connected are inserted to your mouth all the way to the stomach and small portion of duodenum to inspect the tract.

The first drug prescribed – ranitidine actually didn’t show any improvement on my condition though I had taken it for one month. So, during the second visit, the general practitioner changed another drug for my gastrointestinal problem which is omeprazole, the proton pump inhibitor.

The general practitioner said she wanted to try another drug on me see how it goes before deciding whether to let me do endoscope or not. Seconds later, she asked for my consent of the decision. I really want to find out what actually happens in my tract, so I told the doctor that I would prefer an endoscope for a thorough check up. The doctor was so kind that she give me a yes regarding the scope and together with the omeprazole.

The staff at the endoscopy unit emphasized that I will need to be accompanied during the procedure, I should bring at least one friend. Guess who was the great companion

There was a small crowd at the unit when I reached there. After registered, I waited apprehensively for quite some time and observed silently aside. A sad observation – I was the youngest patient there. >.<

Fit in operation cloth. A pretty patient? LOL. I was nervous and freaked out since days before the procedure.

Once I was lying on the operation bed, the staff sprayed anaesthetic mists into my throat. Oh gosh, I almost vomited and felt my throat had disappeared all in a sudden. The staff aside asked me to breath if I feel nauseated. Then the doctor came to inject, I guess it was another anaesthetic.

I guess I was in a partial unconscious mode for several minutes during the procedure thereby I could feel the torment when the tubes were inserted. I don’t have a vivid picture of whole procedure after they inserted the tubes until the moment I was pushed out of the operation room in dizziness. When I looked back the phone timing of the photos I took, it was actually 20-minute procedure but I felt like 3-minute procedure. Guess that was when the anaesthetic effect subsided.

Endoscope costs 100 bucks and I got it free as the university will pay for me.The scope revealed as normal but the doctor prescribed me Nexium which costs hundred over for two months course of medication. Though I have the letter from University, I still can’t get the medication for free. I’m not sure for the reason but guess it is not in the list of hospital medicaments. Thereby, I didn’t purchase though it was prescribed. I shall meet my general practitioner a month later for follow-up.

Buddy Treat

In my university, there is a thing so called “Buddy System” where every student will have a senior as her/his buddy to guide them in any situation/difficulty. For my buddy line, it has been a tradition that the senior buddy will treat the junior buddies during their final year. So, as discussed, we headed to TAO for our dinner without early booking. Ended up, TAO was fully occupied =( I missed the chance to taste TAO for the 2nd time.

In severe hunger, we headed to One Utama Shogun. It was fully booked again but the kind manager tried hard to allocate a place for us <3 This is what we called Excellent Customer Service

Only few days of tied up, I feel extraordinarily exhausted. I still have another biotechnology paper to go this coming monday. Luckily, I managed to get some essence from this recently opened outlet – Tang Shi Fu, located at One Utama Shopping Centre. The ill look you can see from here.

The Tang Gui Replenishing Soup I ordered, with the functions of improving blood circulation and to recover from exhaustion. Yes, I chose soup according to the outcomes I wished and the meals were all nice!

Asian Water Sports Village

It isn’t a real village, instead you will never imagine what kind of luxury you can seek from here. Some investors must have ventured a large amount of money in order to provide such relaxing and sophisticated venue for the public. Row of villa along the Tasik Prima is opened for the visitors, unfortunately, my group couldn’t make a stay in this magnificent architecture.

This spot is actually quite newly opened, thus its equipment and facilities are all brand new. You would definitely like to take a look at their video below to see for yourself of its luxurious villa stay and activities offered! It is a spot for memorable gathering and leisure with friends or big family.

The batch of 29 people where there were FIVE cars (all female drivers) reached the destination with great enthusiasm to get ourselves wet! Pharmacy Girls ROCKXXX!! (Ooppss, not forgetting the 4 boys in the class as well!! Heh!)

The main 3 watersports that we got are the following:

1. I will call this Lover Turbo Blast. It’s a love shape that can accommodate two people and you will experience a wonderful intimacy with your partner when you’ve gone through this together – Yea, Turbo Up. xD This was the most exciting games which most of us want more.

We had bananas too! We were so sure that we wouldn’t drop off as the earlier two groups assured us that the boat would never overturne as the jetski operators would always stop/ slow down when necessary. Therefore, they’d never get wet.

Guess what, when we were so overwhelmed with only piercing screaming, the next second we found ourselves submerged in the deep murky water. Um uh~ The banana overturned out of our expectation! We were so unprepared and could only laugh over our noob ride for we were the first team who proved to the rest that THE BOAT WILL OVERTURN!! Hahaha… And this is my banana team:

The third games was a four-person-ride. This requires a great teamwork too in order to turn according to the direction so that the riders won’t drop into the water. I almost flung off during the ride. Luckily my butt and left hand managed to hold on tight right before the operators slowed down for me. LOL.

Kayak is available as well but I didn’t take up the paddle as I used to have this during National Service back then. So, want to know what made me put off kayak-ing?

Hahaha… Tata!!! It is JACUZZI SPA!!!!!!!! Notice that Sauna was awaiting behind too!!!

Upon request from Malaysian Pharmaceutical Student Association (MyPSA) representative, I have a guest under student exchange programme in my house currently. To be exact, is my rented room at KL. =)

Her name is Jodie, with a graceful chinese name called 张倩 (pronounced as Zhang Qian). I love her chinese name very much! She is as soft spoken in person as sound by her name. She said she likes my name too. Oh yeah, my name - 慧荔 (pronounced as Hui Li), not bad either mar horrr~~ lol.. what a self-complacence.. hah!

To clarify, her origin is Hong Kong but had emigrated to UK as permanent resident. So, she can speak chinese/ cantonese as well.

To be frank, it is a great pleasure and experience to have met her as she inspired me quite a lot! =)
I recommended her several interesting spots within KL but only managed to bring her to Petaling Street and Sunway Pyramid due to transportation and time constraints. Oh ya, not forgetting, SS2 Night Market too. haha..

She bought a lot of stuffs, real lots. This tells how lucky we are the Malaysian with all the varieties offered in Malaysia range from food to personal interests like apparels, accessories and so on. Most importantly, there are cheap as compared to most of the other countries. People have been dreaming for trip to Europe, me as well, but now I realize Malaysia is not bad either.

I had been imagining myself living in England, Wow, London Bridge with SNOWS!! Oh yeah, a dream which makes me wandering on the cloud nine. But the next second, logical thinking hits me back, reminding that I would probably sacrifice my shopping desire due to the expensiveness of goods in UK. I could hardly have my favourite Chicken Chop and all other culinary dishes as well. Ohhhh, my Asam Laksa!! Roti Canai!! ermmm, Okay, I’ll think twice.

All the utter joys and satisfactions experienced by jodie turned into immense reluctance. I wouldn’t have believed what she yelled : 我不想回家了.. (means I don’t feel like going back already).. Woah, at this point, I was glad that I’m born in this golden piece of land. =)

This reminded me that I’ve never posted nor received any postcard. Hahaha… poor me.. I used to have postcards with no delivers or senders, just keeping the cards with myself. LOL. and yeah, THEY AREN’T POSTCARDS! hah!

Certainly, most ladies love nail colours. Nowadays, not only the ladies, even the men don’t mind to give a yes to it out of curiosity. If you’re a man, I bet you certainly been trying to put nail varnish or making request to some other ladies to put the colours on your nails. The trend changes with time where nail polish in fashion has recently become more popular in men.

Back to some interesting history of nail polish, the idea of nail colouring exists since long long time ago. The ancient Egyptians stained their nails with henna while the ancient Japanese and Chinese with natural extracts.

These admiring glances were first developed by the Chinese who used mainly harmless natural ingredients like vegetable dyes. In ancient Egypt world, people used nail colours according to social hierarchy. The bright red nail polish can only be wore for the highest ranking people while the lower ranking people only permitted for pale colours.

Modern nail varnish was invented back then for cosmetic purposes and sometimes for nail protection.

That day when shopping with other two friends of mine, we spotted some nice nail enamel of Revlon. Without a second thought, three of us got ourselves one each.

The uniqueness of the nail colour I chose was that it scented when dry. In this case, you must be thinking what so unique of this, every nail enamel scented with a distinct smell. It’s different for the orange pop colour I got which scented with sweet fruity smell when dry.

A week later, we spotted a Christmas limited edition twinkling pink enamel from Body Shop. This drove us to another purchase.

Realizing how irresistible those nail enamels is towards the ladies, I would like to give little reminders and facts which one should be aware of when applying the coating.

Frequent use of nail polish and remover poses serious health hazards to the users. It is said that some people can still have strong healthy nails but some experience brittle nails. There was a time I used those cheap nail enamels and what made me gazed in awe was when I saw my nails turn yellowish after weeks when I removed the nail colours. So, choose a proper brand of your nail polish but it doesn’t mean expensive brands definitely give promising outcomes. After all, you’re still applying chemicals on your nails and the negative effects may just click on at anytime.

I scrambled through the nail polishes that I have, all of them don’t have ingredients label imprinted except the Revlon polish. Reading through its label, what I discovered was it is a formaldehyde and toluene-free formula.

Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen and its fumes are irritating to mucus membranes in the eyes, nose and throat. There are still nail varnishes adopting this ingredient although it is being replaced in some brands.

Toluene often used in nail polish as solvent to dissolve other chemicals all into a solution. It can cause birth defects in animals, affects the central nervous system and is fatal if swallowed. Toluene as well is linked to cancer.

Apart from these two, there are also other varnish chemical ingredients as well which cause hefty health dangers if you can google through the net.

In a nutshell, always take care of your nails while applying nail coats. Magnificent manicures should be on par with healthcare as well.

The Colour of My Mind by Albert Wang

There was a guy approached me while I was waiting for my number to be registered for consultation. He bumped into me and showed me a newspaper article saying that it is his church friend, Albert Wang who pen about his lifetime story of schizoprenia incidence (In some other words, people in the society commonly regards it as “Orang Gila”). He told me that Albert is currently warded at UMMC for treatment. And they published this thin book for sale with the purposes to generate Albert Wang’s medical expenses, at the same time, educating public about schizoprenia.

The guy didn’t seem like a fraud through the evidence he had shown me. Eventually I forked out RM20 to get this 66-page-book because it did impress me at the first sight and somehow I could feel the sincere effort of the writer in writing this book. I wanna find out more about any kind of diseases, what more it is from the patient’s own experiences itself?

Okay, till this part is still fine. After 20 mins while I was waiting at another corner for consultation, the same guy met me again. And this time, he spotted me reading the book and requested for a photograph together with the book. Okay, just a small task, ok lor.. But he then questioned me further about my background and even asking me whether I’m single. This indeed was kinda eerie. And I actually missed my turn for consultation due to the photograph. =.=

After all, it is a bless I think to have encountered this random occasion during my consultation at UMMC. That guy didn’t do anything to me lar.. lol..phew. =)

The book did give a kind of feeling that the writer is really like talking to the one who is reading his book, which it gives me a feeling that it is a good book although the writer just used simple layman english to convey little bit about his life, how he was before he got diagnosed with schizoprenia, what happens after he was certified to be schizoprenic and so on.

I would like to share a small part of the book chapter 1 as it did drive me to read forward with just a simple introduction like this:

Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End

I was born Wang Tew Jit in october 10,1957 at the Assunta Hospital in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. My father was a fishmonger at the Pasar Buroh Wholesale Market in Selangor, in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.
While my father took care of the fish business, my mother took care of me. I was a pak-pak kei kei to my parents. This meant that I was a chubby boy whom my mother and father loved. My childhood days were carefree and happy.
I was a bright student in kindergarten and obedient to both my teacher and parents. I remember telling them that when I grow up, I will buy myself a Jaguar and life in a big bungalow. My father would be very happy each time he heard that. It was just a small boy’s fantasy. But in my heart, I had a burning desire to see that fantasy come true.
While growing up, I was shattered with the untimely demise of my mother. I was in tremendous pain when one day I found my mother hanging from the guava tree in the backyard of our house. She had committed suicide.

So that is just a very small part of the beginning.. I won’t show you the whole story of course, I don’t want to get sued by people lor. lol. If you feel like reading further, please go and get one or you can borrow from me, I’ll charge you! LOL. just kidding!

There were three of us went to university clinic for different complications, hoping that the clinic will direct us to UMMC. For your information, clinic at my university is kinda lousy in service, students have no confidence in them at all. So in the end, only ME got the letter. LOL. Yes, it is definitely not something cool. So with these referral letters, I can get free consultation in UMMC. Woots!

And this is the content of the letter which written by the university general practitioner:

Medical students, if you’re reading this, hopefully you do understand what it is written there. =D

So, this is what I’ve got from UMMC GENERAL PRACTITIONER again. =( I thought I could have been directed to enterologist straight away. So, the general practitioner actually put me on a 3 weeks’ course of ranitidine+magnesium trisilicate (FYI, it is for gastric) and need me to come back for another consultation after weeks. According to the general practitioner, she would like to monitor my condition with these medicaments first, then only decide whether to direct me to enterologist during the next follow ups. So, mamamama, I gotta take these non palatable medicaments, especially the magnesium trisilicate! I’m not fancy with liquid dosage form. =(

And another silly thing is, I was prescribed with 15ml magnesium trisilicate 3 times per day for 3 weeks mer. But the two bottles only have 400ml in sum wor.

Hello, 15 x 3 times daily x 21 days = 945ml, and you give me not even half of the total dose??!! Inadequate medications being distributed?? So, I just ought to take for 2 weeks is it? buhhhh~~ =.=

It is torturing. It is a psychological trigger. It is an intolerant. It still doesn’t get away.
Due to this, I started to google for relievers and it’s disheartening to find that it has NO CURE.
Aarrgghh… IBS why u cross my life without permission?!

Four more days to the final assessments and I couldn’t study with the burps haunting me. =( Current average burping frequency is one burp per 10 seconds. In peak period, it can be one burp per 3 seconds. Goodness! I can’t take this anymore. When the burps couldn’t be released, I felt like nauseated. This condition has been catching me for about 3 months.

Last week, I had diarrhea again which drove me for a medical consultation to check out what’s actually going on with me. Another problem within me is I have been experiencing diarrhea here and then. Sometimes, I got diarrhea with tremendous pain which made my whole face turned pale and my extremities got cold and I could have fainted if condition went uncontrolled. There was time when in severe pain, I was thinking if I really fainted in the toilet some day guess nobody would have realised it. hahaha.. Sounds sarcastic uh, as a healthcare student I have a lot of health problems with me. LOL. The whole gastrointestinal condition giving all these eerie experiences.

If you’re a medical student itself and you knows so well about how human body functions, when your own body reacts adversely, you will start thinking of the worst possibilities like : I might have cancer? LOL. Choi Choi Choi~ But that thought would cross my mind sometimes. =D Hey this is absolutely rational thinking okay. One of the underlying causes for chronic diarrhea is cancer mer.. XD

So, the diagnosis was:

I got IBS, to be exact, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It was said to be stress-induced. =)
And with that medication prescribed:

Metrogyl and Atropine for my diarrhea.

Liblan and Omeprazole for my IBS

But, I don’t think the medications work. It may work in the case of reducing my gastric acidity but not for the burps i think. I still burping freaking much though I have taken half course of the medicine so far. And there is no way I can control my stress while the nerves get tensed during critical times. So, OMG I shall keep burping for whole of my life! =S

Qwerty Keyboard

It’s time to say byebye to my extraordinarily old SE K700i cell phone which has been with me all the while for more than 4 years. As my first phone, it had been serving me well except the navigation key which sulking sometimes. There are people who fond of switching phones from time to time which I see it as a lavish and not nature-conserving type of people, wasting a lot of natural resources plus the batteries of phones causing much hazards to the environment, just to fulfill their personal desires. There is a funny thought in me where I sometimes will regard those who frequently changing cellphones as playboys/playgirls who switching partners like changing clothes. LOL. If the pattern of using phone can be equalized to the loyalty of a person to somebody, then I guess I should be a super duper loyal girl??!! hahaha…

To decide on which cellphone to serve me for the next few decades, it had been a baffling issue for me. Finally, I got one with the following criteria:
1) I need a pda phone/ smartphone.
2) I want a qwerty keyboard phone.
3) I don’t want a slide phone nor touch screen phone.

So, perhaps you will suggest blackberry. But, this time is dad who pays for me. As a FILIAL daughter (ahem), I would like to save his pennies, moreover, he definitely won’t be paying single cent and vituperate me if I choose an over budget phone. For the parents, they have a thought that I should just get myself a phone which can make calls and text messaging and that should be enough for me. True to some points for my current status, so I obey since the primary reason for me to get a new phone is because my old phone has became faulty. But of course I would like to get a phone with certain good functions provided. Out of the shortlisted, I picked this:

Yea, a Nokia E Series phone which I like it very much. Yea, it’s a qwerty keypad phone which simply means a phone with full keypad just like those of the computer keyboard. Notice the word “QWERTY” (which I don’t know how to pronounce yet), it is simply adopted from the first row of the keypad alphabets. So cool!!! =)

Mom commented that the device is such a big one which makes me look rough, not nice at all. LOL. On the other hand, brother who wanted me so much to get a N8 instead, commented that it’s ugly too. Hahaha… But I’m still very attached to this one =D

To be honest, when I first saw blackberry last time, I yelled at its keypad because I was thinking that .. .. .. it is ugly. LOL. And now I got this, can’t believe that I started to grow fond of it!! It eases the typing by allowing simple and rapid typing with its full keyboard!! And the reason for me not to get a touch screen phone is because the touch screen is functioning a litlle slow. When you touch on an alphabet, it takes about 1 second to make the sense detected. Sometimes you may just miss the touch and re-touch it several times. That was what I experienced when I used my brother’s HTC for one day previously (I’m noob in touch pad perhaps. Haha). Maybe the technology can be improvised several years later and I’m looking forward for that. And for now I would need a fast typing one. =)

Another cool thing about this keypad is its navigation key. It possesses four side buttons for you to press up, down, right and left. Another option is you can choose to use the optical navigation key which is the red rounded square at the centre as shown in the image. Just by a sense of touch, you can navigate by swiping your finger on it to the direction you wants!! After all, i still can have some touch sense mode in this device. Woohoo.. =D

I’m obsessed with its specifications. The only regret is I wasn’t able to get the gold colour of this due to some miscommunications. See, the gold colour (the first phone in the image below) is much more feminine and classy! =(

Cupcakefest

My last day of lecturing was initiated with the following:

Yea, Bisou bake shop at Bangsar Village, a shopping mall where classy rich population strolls at. Sadly to say, I’m not belonged to the population k.. Haha… I came across this bake shop about two months ago where I found its cupcakes were pretty well decorated. Guess it won’t taste really bad as there are only two outlets available at Malaysia. Another is at Suria KLCC. So, both locations have some “Standard”, so it won’t go really wrong guaaaa~ So, we decided to give it a try.

The design of the bake shop:

It is just a simple open space located near the bridge which connects the two divisions of the Bangsar Village. A simple whitish build-up of the bake shop equipped with several tables and seatings together with array of cupcakes at the entrance.

There should have more choices offered but these were what we got that day. We were standing in front of the cupcakes and wondering which to be brought back. After 15 mins, we paid up. The cupcakes cost rm5 for each. For every 5 pieces purchased one extra free cupcake will be given. So it means rm25 for six. =)

And it comes with a pretty paper bag!

Tata~ These were what we got. To tell the truth, the prettier the cupcakes, the more unpleasant the taste would be. LOL. I’m serious. The Vanilla Garden and Love Me Tender are the worst. The most palatable cupcakes which I like the most is the Choco Dementia. Not because of the medical word Dementia, is because it has a thick chocolate paste in the cupcakes. Therefore it tastes GOOD. If you wants a milder chocolate taste, then I would suggest Ebony& Ivory or Bling Bling (what a lame name..LOL).Guess why we got all those cupcakes??

It’s for them – QingLiang and Sue! We were celebrating for their early birthdays. It is huge early for Sue as her birthday is still about 3 weeks apart. LOL. But have no choice, both of them will be having birthdays during our study week.

Alexis Bistro & Wine Bar @ Jalan Ampang

Hi peeps, sorry for the delay (If you’ve been waiting for this post as I mentioned it in previous post).
Alexis was the place I wish to recommend to all of you.
There are several Alexis outlets can be sought in KL which include Jalan Ampang, The Gardens and Bangsar. The Alexis I managed to reached the other day was situated at Great Eastern Mall, Jalan Ampang. It is located at the ground floor of the mall.Yup, Great Eastern does have a Mall, a surprise finding indeed.

The attendees who managed to enjoy the great stylish interior, kind & polite hospitality and the most importantly fine dining at Alexis Bistro:

Alexis is reknowned for its flimsy Pizza, so of course we wouldn’t miss out this. The Pizza which I’ve never seen before, be prepared as I’m going to reveal its name… … …
It is aglio olio e pomodoro (RM25). Nahhh, do you know how to pronounce? Seriously, I don’t know. LOL. It is Italian. Aglio means garlic, olio stands for oil and pomodoro is tomato. So, it simply means Italian Pizza with garlic, olive oil and tomatoes. Interesting? Learning Italian through dining! =)

Now, open your eyes as big as possible, notice the Pizza thickness, or I should say thinness. It is even thinner than a Roti Canai! The culinary piece has to be eaten as soon as it is served and you will enjoy its crispness. The feeling when you crunch on it is sort of like eating a crispy potato chips. I super duper likey this! =) There are several types of Italian Pizza in the menu as well, I bet you wouldn’t want me to mention the culinary names at here (It is a huge long alien language to me and you okay). LOL.

The second delicacy would be the grilled marinated calamari which I mentioned in previous post. Just an appetizer of four little squids at RM 18. Yea, I love edible ocean creatures particularly Crab and Squid. Look, the squids are in good shapes, guess they were well fed before they got caught by fisherman just to fulfill seafood seekers like me. Hehe..

Now, the third cuisine – Tiramisu cake which is a signature afters of the bistro.

The Tiramisu cake is filled with almonds and peanuts on top together with strawberry dip aside. Reviews saying that it is one of the best tiramisu in the town. I’m not a tiramisu seeker, so not sure how true it is but this delicate piece is definitely one of the impeccable cakes I’ve ever tried. It is just a small one at a cost of RM 15. They allow buying of a whole cake which I guess will be real expensive, over hundred. When will I get a full blown to please my sweet tooth??

We ordered shooters just to try out. I enquired the waiter which one is more suitable for a lady. LOL. Yes, I knew it will be real yuck if it turns out bad. That’s why I need some recommendation from the waiter to ensure that it won’t appear to be a bolt from the blue.

Peach Fix with vodka, peach schnapps and fresh peaches. This was what the waiter recommended.

Meanwhile, David ordered a thin blue line which is… … … … HAHAHAH…

Look at the pretty bluish liquor with a crystal-like shadow at the bottom.

Now, see the outcomes. It was amazing that I managed to finished my peach fix. As you can see he couldn’t. Note the consumption levels, apparently I finished mine and he didn’t. The level in the thin blue line was mostly I drank one lorrr… hahaha… So wild.. The thin blue line was kinda ardent which I could hardly accept too. LOL.

Alexis, this is a place which I can assure you will never regret for going! Love Alexis! Wish to go again! Hand up anyone? =D

It can be described in all sorts of colours implementing the mood and status of the event. A very prominent general example, Red colour during Chinese New Year symbolises something happy and a wonderful brand new beginning. Different colours represent different messages.

Colours reveal one’s personality. Even it is just a colour on the background of your blog or on your clothes, it implies the type of that person is. At the same time, you can also describe a person with just a colour. And I wonder what colour I am? lol.

Red symbolizes: action, confidence, courage, vitality

Pink symbolizes: love, beauty

Brown symbolizes: earth, order, convention

Orange symbolizes: vitality with endurance

Gold symbolizes: Wealth, prosperity, wisdom

Yellow symbolizes: wisdom, joy, happiness, intellectual energy

Green symbolizes: life, nature, fertility, well being

Blue symbolizes: youth, spirituality, truth, peace

Purple symbolizes: Royalty, magic, mystery

Indigo symbolizes: intuition, meditation, deep contemplation

White symbolizes: Purity, Cleanliness

Black symbolizes: Death, earth, stability

Gray symbolizes: Sorrow, security, maturity

Of course the definitions of the colours are not just limited to the fore mentioned. The same colour can represent two totally antagonistic meaning. Back to the example given, Red can symbolise anger too.

Okay, to be greedy, I want to increase the intensities of all of the colours in my life. Am I trying to be ambitious? LOL. It is just merely a wild thought of mine. I’m officially 22! Yes happy belated birthday to myself =) The time is running out, it doesn’t cease for anyone.
The earth is rotating in a speed that the time seems like deceiving us by giving a false perception of 24 hours per day instead of 1 hour per day in the actual sense! Okay, I’m boosting a lil here. LOL. But time really passed incredibly fast! Now is the end of my third year first sem. It seems like I was just entering the course yesterday.

That’s why I need to fill up the colours before my energy get exhausted, before wrinkles grow on my face, before I have movement disability where travel is hardly possible anymore. And the most important thing is Life shouldn’t be wasted as if it is a free item. You shall eventually discover you don’t own anything worthwhile for the past of your life or less joys to cheer upon at the end of your life. When your kids and your grandsons asking you what did you do when you were young, you will have nothing impressive to share with them or you may end up in faking your facts of life in order to story them something. How pathetic it would be then. So, appreciate every moment of your life now, do something which is not only beneficial to yourself but also being contributive to the population of the Homo Sapiens! It doesn’t matter if it is just a small contribution, it is always the effort counts.

Cravings @ Sunway Giza Damansara

Ever heard of 12 inches burger at Cravings? It’s getting hot within the town since the opening of the outlet at Sunway Damansara. It took about 20mins of driving from Petaling Jaya to reach upon the newly opened atrium of delicacy. Thrilling a little bit as we had never been there. However, among the girls, Sue and ChuiHua went there for the first time on the day before for TAO! Yeah, TAO, another buffet cuisine that I’ve been craving for. And again on the following day, they dropped by at the place again just for Cravings on my birthday celebration. =)
Around the Giza itself,there are rows of shop lots from dining to entertainment. What a good place to hang around. While for being main attraction, Sunway Giza is equipped with shopping, leisure and entertainment spots with only a charge of RM1 for its car park fee! =)
We were strolling at only a small compartment of the giza with the view of following:

Guess what, we found i-City at Giza! LOL. So why go i-city?? (as uttered by XinLi) It was the design of another dining outlet at the Giza, just a short distance from Cravings.

We ordered 4 main course dishes and a drink for each of everyone of us. Due to the esuriency of the voracious girls, only 2 main courses were managed to be captured in nice pieces. LOL.

And this is our main concern of the day, the 12-inches fella with patties of beef and chicken, fish fillet, toasted chicken ham, beef salami, cheese and tomatoes:

A score of 3.8 out of 5 I will give for this. I only managed to taste on some portion of fish and chicken patties. Not bad though, would like to have another try if got chance but not for others. For me, I would give scores of the following for other main courses that we ordered which were Halloween Dinner (1.5) just merely fried rice (SWT), Treasure of chicken (3.0), Spaghetti (2.5).
There were two drinks which were nice. The one I ordered – Citrus Majito Lemonade with lime, lemon, orange slices and mints leaf in soda. My expression of OHHhh! It’s a big one! =)
Another was the green apple crush ordered by FunWee, though she found the fruit sticker in the drink and the group of health conscious girls were outraged on this as the plasticizer is cancerous! LOL.

Last but not least, how could the stressed pharmacists miss out DESSERTS!! =D
Panna Cotta and Milk Cotta – Italian desserts made by simmering and mixing the cream, milk sugar, gelatine and letting it cool until the pudidng-like dessert set. (That was why we waited for about 30mins just for the desserts) Together a scoop of ice-cream is served. 2.5/5 (Ice cream and strawberry taste better!LOL)

Just received a call from my mami! She was trying to reach me just for my birthday wish.
Early birthday wish?? Nope, today is actually my birthday in Lunar calendar which I don’t even recall that Yes, it’s today.
Been promising her that I’ll try to go back for the ninth emperor celebration , but still not able to do so eventually as all the presentations, tests and assignments all popping out on these final weeks! =( Sorry mom!

This was her first time visiting KLCC. She insisted to have a glimpse at this wonderful symbolic building of Malaysia and we took her on LRT which was also the very first time she boarded on that. As you can see, she was so overjoyed with the stroll, enthusiastic in hugging both of her beloved daughters while snapping pictures. =) She is my greatest mom who willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of the Family, more than sacrifices that can be uttered by words. She took every of her child to school every day by bike, the only transportation she familiars with, even if there was a rain. She fed all the children on their basis needs all alone during those days dad was not around with us. She worked extraordinarily hard in order to give us better livings.
And now, I miss home, everything at home, including her.

Pharmily Day is one of the event held in my pharmacy department,

organised by third year batch of pharmacy undergraduates every year.

and this year is the turn of my batch.

I'm just a "small kaki" in publicity bureau,

what I did were just promoting to the final year batch and helping out in registration counter and screamed like nobody business during the event to create excitement. hahaha...

The Pharmily Day was awesome!

Not to be partial to my own batch,

it is glad that my batchmates are wonderful and capable as well!! =)

The organising batch arrived at the department at early 6.45am!

I think this is the day I've ever woke up such early throughout my this semester..

The theme for this year is "Wow in the Wild" which emphasizes on wildlife of the nature.

So we painted some colours on our faces, put on different headbands of animals and flowers in order to comply with our funky theme.

So, basically what we had during Pharmily Day were lucky draw, performances, outdoor and indoor games, involving all the pharmacy undergraduates, staffs, lecturers and their family as well..

Kids of staffs and lecturers were joining too. This is why it's a Phamily =)

It took the whole morning until afternoon 2pm.

They said that the organising committee usually will turn out as the overall winner.

However, it didnt occur for my batch. LOL.

We got the third place, but we won more than everyone else did.

We won the spirit of organising, teamwork and great bonds amongst ourselves and also the staffs/lecturers in the department. =)

It's our third year, we still have one and a half year to go,

and I believe the friendship bonds will become stronger and stronger as we proceeding to our final year.

Two and a half years of being together, been through everything together,

Study, Stress, Eat, Laugh, Get WILD, Get scolded, Get airplane release by lecturers etc all together.LOL.

Though it sounds lame and might be a little bit uncomfortable,

I wanna shout that : I LOVE YOU!! XD

was celebrating two of my coursemates' birthdays weeks ago at

The Apartment Restaurant and Bar at The Curve.

The dining outlet is special with its design of Apartment concept where

bathroom, bedroom, living room, garden can be found.

We were allocated a bathroom for dining. LOL.

Sounds cool?

All of us, as you can see we ate at the TOILET. =D

The food was nice too, slightly above the average..

I like the coolers, where some fruity taste juices were mixed with soda.

This was the Mandarin cooler I had.

And of course, to be able to taste different kinds of food, we shared all the food we ordered.

The only bad thing about the restaurant was their poor service. They served the food slow, and the return the balance of the payment slow too (we were waiting for about 15 mins to get the change back!pissed~)

The other thing was they didnt offer anything special/free for our birthday girls though we spent more than rm200. Kiamsiap betul~

Anyway, we did enjoy ourselves, that was what celebration should be right. =)

Grapefruit

Do you ever come across Grapefuits?

I think quite a number of people doesn't know what grapefruit is actually.

The first time I heard about this fruit was during my pharmacotherapy lecture by Ms.LoYokeLin in my pharmacy department who is a dedicated and knowledgeable lecturer. Most of the students respect her for her kind teaching I guess.

According to her, grapefruits have a lot of health benefits...

I just can remember it is a GOOD fruits. lol.

So, on the spot when I was told about grapefruit,

I was thinking : oh, I know, they are basically just grapes, a kind of fruits la..

Hahaha.. Shame on me.. I'm wrong totally!

Grapefruit, it is a citrus fruit which looks similar to an orange but it is bigger in size as compared to orange. So, it is an "Orange" not Grape. =D

Meanwhile the flesh varies in colours, and the one I managed to get yesterday were reddish in colour.

Yeah, finally saw it at a fruit stall after a certain period of craving.

See, it really looks exactly like an orange from pic right?

Ok, my first taste of grapefruit, it tastes sour and bitter, something like Orange+Pomelo taste. You know right, pomelo tastes a little bitter too.

Overall still OK la, pure citrus fruit's taste, nothing much..

I still have three more.. So, if you wish to taste it, come, you can get from me before I finish them. =)

Simplicity of its health benefits:

1. It possesses digestive, stomachic, antiseptic, tonic and diuretics qualities.

Woah. This is MUCH.

This should be great for girls who want to maintain to be slim. =)

until it could be hard for me if i have a full stomach. LOL.

and it was offered at a quite reasonable price too

but I didnt buy it..=(

The Sharing @ Annexe Gallery Central Market

I had a visit to the Annexx Gallery at Central Market, KL last two weeks.

It was a photography exhibition with the theme “The Sharing”, organized by some photographers who showing their photography of travelling around Asia.

An overview of the gallery

I like the entire feel of the exhibition as there is a little indirect interaction between the organizers and the visitors in the following ways:

There were candies for the visitors! =) how affectionate the organizers were.

There was also a corner equipped with a small table where pieces of 4R photos being arranged on it. The visitors were asked to choose one of the photos they like the most. All of the photos were so nice and had their own story behind. Though felt like want to have each of photos, but I still picked one out of all as I thought the organizers had their own intention for asking us to pick only one. =)

This was the one I picked. Guess it was the Empathy which drove me for it; it wasn’t about how wonderful the photography skill is. The photo has its photographer’s signature too! Woah. This photo was named –Afternoon Nap, taken in India, 2010.

Most of the photos exhibited were captured in India, China and Malaysia.

I didn’t actually have any expectation for the exhibition when going there.

However, I was blessed with wisdom from the sharing which I would like to share with my readers.

Most of the photos were figure based, from innocent poor kid to pity old man. At the same time, there were some nature scene photos as well.

The figures being displayed grabbed my attention. Empathy was flushing through me within a second. Look at those innocent eyes filled with hopes. Hope that there will be food and no hunger, or hope that there is no poverty, or hope that the world will hear their inner voices, or hope that there will be help from the people out there. I’m sure their lives are hard, harder than anyone of us. But they still move on with clinging to hope despite the toughness. Their strong spirit for life is the spirit that sustains them for further journey.

What a friend used to tell me: Though sometimes there are people or on-going incidents which dismay you, most of time you just can’t ignore them or shut them off. What you can do is accept them with great courage and open heart although there is infinity splash of reluctance in your mind. Never escape but confront. Certain things in life are just out of your control including who and what come into your life or leave you in a later time. I was told, I can choose what I want my life to be although I can’t control the fore mentioned. So does you. Choose to turn the negative to positive; choose to turn up yourself though your surrounding turns you down.

While you’re obsessed with your own happiness or sadness, remember that there are people out there waiting for helping hands and in deeper grief. The world is not just about YOU.

Had some catch up with friends at PizzaHut last thursday.

Pictures look great and we had some quick updates from the long-time-no-see friends.

Previous dining at PizzaHut was during several months back where Sue feasted us.

It was a great dining with friends too.

Yea, I had good times at PizzaHut.

And I just realized that I wore the same shirt for the both mentioned occasions above. Wow.

I like Pizza, but I'm not going to there anymore.

You know why? Perhaps some of you might have knew this before.

For the not-knowings, this is going to alert you. =)

I got to know that the malays doesn't need to pay the dining government tax at there!

While the non malays need to!

I totally don't understand what kind of policy is this?

Another situation was experienced by my friend who had his meal at some mamak stall..

and he had to pay rm3.50 for his MeeGoreng while the malays paid rm3 for the exactly same MeeGoreng.

I believe there are many of you had came across this kind of injustice too.

Well, I'm not showing any racism or disrespect to the Malays here.

I get close to my malay friends too and I have some good Malay friends too.

I just can't agree with this kind of policy where non-malays need to pay more and the malays need to pay less. I totally can't figure out any explanation for this kind of charging.

The country is treating its own citizens unfairly.

So, I've determined not to go for such dining outlets who show racism in their business and PizzaHut is one of them. =)

Unless there is a good explanation to cover up this.

So, Say No to PIZZAHUT. lol.

a.k.a Choco Wafer, what a name. hahaha. You made my day! The one used to sat next to me in class.

A rich Pangkor girl, driving her own VIOS in KL, however she has no time to drop by at PJ for me. *CubiT*

But we are all from Nan Hwa Perak.

We had seafood (my favourite!!!) at Hainan Village, Kg.Acheh.

Just simple dishes we ordered as we got only four people but it ended up in a good feast.

Salted egg prawn. It doesnt look like prawn externally though as it was fried.

So sound like we were having some salted egg feast?? LOL.

That was the first time I tried salted egg flavor, but they really are..of the TOP delicacy!!!

Thanks to the recommendation of the menu girl who recommended these as their restaurant's signature dishes.

Guess how much was the total bill?

It only cost about rm10 per person.

Doesn't it cheap?? Yea, nice and cheap Sitiawan seafood.

So, it's better to have gathering at here rather than have it at OldTown, Secret Recipe, PizzaHut etc.

You can get a full and satisfied stomach and of course a long chit-chat here with air-cond provided too.

We can hardly meet as time goes by due to different study timing and schedules.

Glad that we can at least meet once or two times a year together.

Spending my holidays by indulging in my own watermark =)

Designed two watermarks for myself using Photoshop.

Initially I wanted to use just one design, but I'm so indecisive to pick out of both favourites.

At the end, I decided to use BOTH. lol.

Just a simple one but I'm contented instead because I'm on the first pace to equip myself with Photoshop skills =)

There goes, I tested my watermark on the photos which I took at Tanjung Harapan last week.

Were by chance and right timing, reached upon the destination at the exact time when the sun set.

Photos were captured merely by my Sony T300 but somehow they look like DSLR photos..

So, can you imagine how beautiful it was the sunset scene by the actual eye sight?

The vast sky and the crystal clear water didnt merge at horizon, you know why??

Because it is a bay not facing towards the open sea~ =)

Gelato Fruity . MidValley

Gelato, an Italian ice cream which you will probably like it.

I know it sounds a lil out of tune for me to post about gelato on 31st of month

rather than posting about Baskin Robbin.

But believe me, this ice cream is nice.

I like it but I can't afford to have it so frequent.

The smallest portion of it costs rm6.80!!

I can get almost 7 Sunday Cones with that. LOL.

But gelato is much more better than Sunday Cone of course. Heh!

Despite the smallest volume that they sell,

the portion is actually just nice, for my size at least.

The ice cream makes me thirsty if I eat much more than

what I got for myself that day.

There are various choices at the display freezer with different colours.

and I saw a blue colour ice cream which was quite creepy. Eeeww~

This is definitely a NO for me.

Customers were allowed to test on the ice-cream and the men at the counter were quite generous in letting the customers try out their flavours.

This should be the way customers are being treated mar~ LOL

I guess many people shall approach the counter if they know about this

especially when we are allowed to just walk away "thick-facingly" after trying it.

This is the Malaysian style, free things attract crowd.

I got myself the Kicker flavour. Erm, a lil peanut + vanilla + chocolate taste I guess.

Just Popiah . MidValley

There is a small hawker stall selling popiah at the LG pathway which

connects MidValley and TheGardens.

The popiah looked delicious so my friends and I actually tried it out that day.

The scrumptious popiahs arrayed nicely in the oven which makes me drooling!

While queuing and waiting for the order, I snapped a few photos. Heh!

I guess the hawker was feeling happy when I took the photos as I shall then promoting their business. Some more is free of charge advertisement.

Hey, uncle hawker, you shall grant me some free popiahs!

Actually the one we ordered in the end were those wet popiahs without being fried.

Didn't achieve the maximum contentment.

But the popiahs were indeed same as what written at the stall: CRISPY!

I can feel and hear the essence in the popiah was crackling in my mouth

when I crunched it =)

I seriously wanna try out the fried popiah during my next attempt.

They have their own facebook too,

Love Is / Is Not Easy

-Love is not easy- This was the topic being debated during the first round of debate at DTC University Malaya yesterday.

A few points to ponder upon..

1. Is love difficult?

Yes, love is difficult because both parties have to tolerate each other, building up the trust, respect, responsibility and love whole heartedly.

No, love is not difficult as long as both parties tolerate each other, building up the trust, respect, responsibility and love whole heartedly.

See, in conclusion, love is simple because it can be both ways and yet love is complicated because it can be both ways.

2. There is no fixed module of love.

Totally agree on this. There shall not be any comparison. Love is not a number which can be graded. You will never know how much a person loves you. Even you yourself couldnt gauge how much is your love towards your lover. Because love is not mathematically derived. I would say it's a nature instinct and the greatest element that god creates for life. Love is not a subject paper that can be tested or examined. But then, there is a subject named "Paktology" (Subject of love) being creatively created by my coursemates. This is quite amusing indeed. =) And we wish friends to score an A for their paktology so as to say we hope that they will find their soul mates soon.

3. Why lovers break up and divorce?

Reasons suggested - because they are not suitable, they have no longer adore each other.

What I would like to say is, all of these are not love. These are just sort of temporary admiration or self-satisfied endeavours which are totally immature. What makes up a couple is that they endure and overcome all odds and hurdles together. All the incidents strengthen the bond between a couple. People fall in love at the first place, as time goes by, love is not purely I love you and you loves me. The love slowly adds in the sense of responsibility and willingness to live and support each other as long as the breaths are still being taken in and the hearts are still beating. One has to bear the responsibility for one's decision. You've made the choice and you shall make things right at all cost. Giving up a relationship, beating up your partner, torturing each other, committing suicide etc are not the ways an adult should behave. We are humans, and what makes the difference between us and animals? It's because we are blessed by god with an advanced brain which we shall be able to integrate, interpret, think and act with logics, humanity and rationality. So, think and act wisely for your actions, not only in the matter of love affairs, but also in every single minor aspect of your life.

Lastly, a mature love can makes a couple go further whereas an immature love can be destructive, not only to the lovers, but also to the people around them- the family, the innocent children and even the society. Love is not a burden. You just need to make the souls of two different entities merge. Sincerity makes love beautiful and Love makes the world beautiful. =D

What crosses your mind when you see flowers? Well, flowers bring alot of meaning and are part of many important occasions range from happy Valentine, Mother's Father's Day etc to sorrowful funeral.
There's a question in my mind, won't the florists be delighted seeing all the colourful petals everyday?? This simply makes me jealous!
And for this special month, the convocations let the florists buzz up with earnings! A normal bouquet of flowers will cost around rm50! This is kinda expensive but people still willing to spend for it because the lovable and joyful congratulation part to their beloved friends and families supersedes the financial matter! =)

There is a duckies eatery at Lot 10 HuTong which I think is superb.

The duckies are crispy with its outer layer, which means the SKIN!!!

Woots. Some of my friends will yell at me when knowing that I like the skin part of chicken and duck (Pig?? Only suckling pig's skin is acceptable).

They commented that the skin is disgusting.

But there are also some fella who like the sexy skin just like me =)

C'mon!! Imagine KFC chicken skin!! suckling pig's skin!! Yum Yum!!

Okay, back to the topic, duckies at HuTong, they come with different kinds of cuisine whether it is with the rice or with the noodles.

It is sooooooooo D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S!!

However, if you're in diet, then perhaps you will reject this delicacy as there is some portion of fatty oily layer beneath the skin. =)

A dish of duckies rice or duckies noodles cost nearly rm15.

Quite expensive right??

But nice to have a try =)
